With a degree in design, from Parson’s School of Design, I joined Closet Factory in 2001. What I love most about working with my clients is creating unique spaces that reflect their own sense of style and personality. My keen eye has afforded the luxury of trust with my clients; this is why they refer me to their friends and family.
When I am not designing beautiful custom spaces you can find me running along on of Long Island’s most scenic trails.
“I had a complicated closet space with uneven floors and slanted walls. Joseph helped maximize the space and delievered exactly what we discussed. Joseph came in on his day off to oversee the installation and see that it was right. I would highly recommend Joseph and would use him on future projects.”

“How do you first approach a space? In other words, what’s the first thing you think about when you first see a client’s closet space/storage problem?”
When I first look at a clients space, it is important to know what exactly the client doesn’t like about their space. What their wish list is, what their goals are for their space. With this first hand knowledge, I can then dive deep into solving their storage dilemmas.
“What is the biggest design obstacle you’ve overcome? i.e. awkwardly angled walls, electrical sockets in bizarre places, big collections in small spaces.”
The couple. When a couple is sharing a space, each person has their own ideas and preferences. Through communication and imagery, I find a way to make everyone happy.
“Since collaboration is such an integral part of the design process, how do you like to engage or connect with clients in order to help them realize their vision for a space?”
Images. By reviewing previously installed projects photographs. Clients can see ideas or materials and accessories the never dreamt of incorporating into their project.
“How are you inspired by a home’s existing décor? Is there anything specific that you look for during an in-home consultation?”
I am always inspired by clients existing decor by incorporating similar color pallet, moldings, and finishes. It’s the little design details that make the client’s design unique to their home and sense of style.
“What are some ways a custom designed home office can improve productivity? In other words, how does the right type of home office help people do business?”
When designing a home office it is important to understand: how the long the client will be working, what type of office equipment they will be using, or even if they are right or left handed. He or she should not be distracted, they should be comfortable.
“What are some modern organizational trends, or what’s a trend you’re looking for?”
I’m seeing a lot of two-tone spaces. It was trend that started in kitchens. Using a neutral color as an anchor and a textured finish can really create a pop!
