At Closet Factory, we love designing special projects that bring each client’s unique vision to life. From custom dressing rooms to custom garages, our designers consider how each project should look, feel, and capture our clients’ personalities. They put careful thought and attention to detail into every project to create a beautiful atmosphere that feels meaningful to each client.

A Paris-Inspired Vision

In a project designed by Jennifer Lavoie from Closet Factory San Diego, a high-profile client who loves visiting Paris each year sought a dedicated custom dressing room to display her collection of high-end designer clothing, shoes, and handbags from these yearly trips. She wanted this new walk-in to look like a museum for her finest items. Having previously worked with Closet Factory, the client reached out about adding this dressing room to her new ADU.

Jennifer brought her expertise and talent to the project, designing a gorgeous Parisian-inspired custom dressing room for the client to display her special collection. A beautiful showcase for her treasured pieces, the room expresses her lifestyle and personality while enhancing the luxurious style of her home.

Jennifer designed the dressing room with colors and details that take luxury to the next level, and she describes its style as “Victorian Paris”. She used a Victorian White finish, which contributes to a chic look, paired with matte gold hardware that accents the space wonderfully. The Winston raised-panel doors and drawers, along with crown molding, reflect the client’s ornate, traditional style. Glass doors beautifully display her handbags while still protecting them, creating the museum-like presentation she envisioned. The Solenne Marble Thinscape countertop, glass shelving, and mirrored backing add another layer of polish, enhancing the dressing room’s boutique-style look.

A Creative Solution for a Design Challenge

When Jennifer and her team came across a challenge with the molding, they were prepared to find a solution. The top doors were different heights but the same depth, which made it difficult to properly wrap the molding around the units. Jennifer’s engineer came up with a solution to ensure the project turned out perfectly. “My engineer came up with the brilliant idea of adding fascia behind the molding to make it work.  It came out great!” Jennifer shared. Although projects aren’t always straightforward, Closet Factory is equipped to handle any hurdles that may come up during the process, ensuring the final result is seamless, intentional, and true to the original vision.

A Designer-Client Relationship Built on Trust view of a custom walk in closet in white

At Closet Factory, our designers take time to build trusting relationships with their clients.   Jennifer shared one of her favorite parts of her job is connecting with clients and earning their trust, and her connection with this client is an example of how trusting relationships lead to beautiful results. “There is nothing like forging an amazing connection with a customer while simultaneously designing a space where they are not afraid to add color and trust my guidance and expertise,” she said.

Jennifer shared that this client was warm and welcoming from the start. Throughout the client’s long remodel, Jennifer maintained communication before the space was ready for her. “She loved that I was persistent and never gave up on her even though the remodel took forever before she was ready for me.  I kept in touch regularly,” Jennifer said. During the second meeting, the client even prepared food for Jennifer because of the time Jennifer spent working on the project with her.

A Personal Vision Brought to Life

Custom design is personal, and Closet Factory designers like Jennifer are dedicated to creating unique designs every client will love. Jennifer, who spent time listening to her client’s vision and communicating with her throughout the entire process, expertly brought her Parisian dreams to life in this stunning custom dressing room. The space is functional, beautiful, and personal. Offering more than just storage, it’s an elegant setting for the client’s special pieces, reflecting her personality and love for Paris.
