We are so excited to share that Closet Factory and ThredUp have partnered in a program to provide value to our clients and make a difference. What Is ThredUp?

We are proud to work with ThredUp, a leading resale platform for apparel and accessories, and a top destination for premium brands.  ThredUp offers an easy solution for sustainably and easily getting rid of clothing.

ThredUp is committed to helping reduce clothing waste, something that has a significant environmental impact. While oftentimes clothes donated through traditional means end up in landfills, ThredUp helps prevent that. If items cannot be sold on their platform, they will be responsibly recycled through partners such as domestic brick-and-mortar thrift stores, partners that reuse materials to create new products, and vetted fiber-to-fiber recycling partners. ThredUp truly takes sustainability seriously.

Curate Your Collection for
Peace of Mind

Don’t overwhelm your new closet with old pieces you never reach for. The closet of your dreams will feel even better when it’s only filled with pieces you’ll actually use. As you take inventory of your items and prepare for your upgraded closet, you’ll likely discover items hiding in the corners you that longer serve you. Marie Kondo’s KonMari Method™ may come to mind, which focuses on only keeping items that “spark joy.” You will find much more peace in your space when it’s decluttered and intentional. Whatever approach you take, know that by removing unwanted clothes and accessories from your collection, you’re making room for the pieces you will actually wear. With your closet upgrade, you might as well start fresh from day 1!

Closet
Clean-Out Kits

This program allows you to declutter without the hassle. Before we get started constructing your custom closet, your designer can supply you with a Closet Clean-Out Kit. The Clean-Out Kit makes it easy to eliminate undesired items. Inside a co-branded envelope, you will receive a bag with a prepaid shipping label. The bag can be filled with 30 lbs of gently used women’s and kids’ clothing and accessories. Once you fill the bag, simply drop it off at UPS, and ThredUp will handle the rest! They will sort, photograph, list, and ship the accepted items. From there, Closet Factory’s portion of the proceeds is directed to our charity partners.

What to Send (And What Not to Send)

You can fill your bag with gently used women’s and kids’ clothing, shoes, and accessories.  While premium and luxury items sell best, you may include any brand. ThredUp loves a range of brands, from Gap to Gucci!

These items should be clean and in good condition. Fill the bag with as much as it can hold. If you have even more items to remove from your collection, you may request multiple Clean-Out Kits.

Do Not Include

Some items cannot be accepted. Please do not include anything dirty or damaged, intimates, sleepwear, men’s apparel, towels, bedding, linens, household items, or luggage.

Our Charity Partner: Dress for Success

This partnership goes beyond a refreshed collection. It supports an amazing nonprofit, Dress for Success. They are the leading global nonprofit employment resource for unemployed and underemployed women, offering job skills training, mentoring, financial education, and professional attire.
