For the past 15 years, the owners of Closet Factory Colorado – Mark & Polly Lestikow – have been avid supporters of Boys Hope Girls Hope, a non-profit organization that helps High School students realize their dreams of graduating from college.
The Lestikow family has contributed over $180,000 in monetary donations, as well as $50,000 in closet designs for both Boys Hope and Girls Hope homes across the state.
“The significant donations from the Lestikow family have provided funding for countless scholarships, school supplies, and support services for our scholars over the past 15 years,” says Mary Fran Tharp, the executive director of Boys Hope Girls Hope.
Boys Hope Girls Hope offers two residential programs – one for boys and one for girls – as well as an after-school Academy program in partnership with Aurora Central High School.
Thanks to generous donors like the Lestikows, Boys Hope Girls Hope has provided more than 275 scholarships to highly motivated students since their inception in 1993. By 2020, the organization estimates that they’ll be helping nearly 400 scholars pay for college!
“The [Lestikows] were introduced to the organization when we approached Closet Factory to do a pro-bono project for the Boys Hope home,” Tharp remembers. “Since that time, they have been outstanding volunteer fundraisers for our organization and we are incredibly grateful for their help and support.”
Boys Hope Girls Hope of Colorado has been able to increase their efforts by 186% over the last five years, and in 2016, the organization celebrated the graduation of 10 Academy scholars – all of whom were accepted to college.
“Our vision is to provide a place for emerging leaders, filled with learning, encouragement and possibilities,” explains Tharp. “We open new doors of opportunity. Polly and Mark have helped that vision to be a reality because of their relentless support and fundraising. They also show the kids in our program the importance of giving back. They are giving our scholars the opportunity to not only become productive members of society, but to become future philanthropists as well.”
The Lestikows are not only dedicated to growing their business, they’re dedicated to growing their community. That’s one of the many reasons why we’re proud to call them a part of our Closet Factory family.
